Its collection has recently evolved \u2013 find the info below!<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">First, a summary of what the OFII tax is:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What?<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\r\n \t<li>The tax requested by the French government under Article L436-10 of the Code of Entry and Residence of Foreigners and the Right of Asylum (CESEDA).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Sent by the OFII (French Office for Immigration and Integration), hence its name!<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>When?<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\r\n \t<li>When issuing a work permit to a foreigner already present in France<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Upon first entry into France after obtaining a work visa<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>How much?<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\r\n \t<li>The amount varies according to the duration of the employment contract and the salary, which is based on the SMIC \u2013 minimal wage in force (the latter has evolved at the beginning of 2023 \u2013 the thresholds have therefore increased).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em>Employment contract between 3 and 12 months:<\/em><\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\r\n \t<li>For a salary less than or equal to 1709,28\u20ac: 74 \u20ac<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For a salary between \u20ac1,709.28 and \u20ac2,563.92: \u20ac210<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For a salary higher than \u20ac2,563.92: \u20ac300<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em>Employment contract of more than 12 months: <\/em><\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\r\n \t<li>For a salary of less than 4273, 21\u20ac: 55% of the gross monthly salary<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For a salary higher than or equal to 4273,21\u20ac: 2350, 26\u20ac<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Payable how?<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Until now, the OFII sent the tax to the employer.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Since 1st January 2023<\/strong>, this tax will be collected differently: it is the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP) that will be responsible for the management and collection of the OFII tax.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The OFII tax is now paid and declared yearly: it will be due for hires that have taken place in the past 12 months, and will be declared and paid via the VAT return of the following year.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ex: if you proceed to 6 recruitments in 2023, the tax must be declared on the VAT form in the 2023 electronic declaration, payable beginning 2024.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A calculation- help document will be made available to employers.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Need more information? <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"oui@oui-immigration.com\">oui@oui-immigration.com<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The OFII tax is the tax on a foreign employee\u2019s recruitment, requested by the French government when hiring a non-European citizen.
